Advanced Laparoscopic and GI Surgeon

Born in Patna, Bihar, Dr. Pranay Gourav is a consultant laparoscopic and GI Surgeon. He performs General, Laparoscopic and GI Surgical procedures. He specializes in basic as well as advanced Laparoscopic Surgeries and He is also trained in breast surgery. His aim is to provide quality surgical care at an affordable cost, to provide proper management of surgical diseases and to improve the quality of life after surgical treatment.

 

The Academic journey started from St. Michael's High School, Patna from where he did matriculation and 12th. After completing MBBS from A. N. Magadh Medical College, Gaya, Bihar he worked as emergency medical officer in Govt. as well as Private hospitals in New Delhi, India. Later he joined as DNB resident at R. N. Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences (RTIICS), Kolkata, India. Along with general surgical procedures, he got trained in advanced Laparoscopic as well as GI surgery. To further sharpen the skills, he joined as Senior Resident at the same institute and continued the journey to first become Junior Consultant at RTIICS and later joined as Associate Consultant at Narayana Multispecialty Hospital, Jessore Road, Kolkata. At present he is working as Consultant Surgeon at Neotia Getwel Multispeciality Hospital (NGMH), Siliguri

 

He has been awarded Fellowships in minimal access surgery by IAGES and AMASI and Diploma in Minimal Aceess Surgery for Bariatric Surgery from AMASI. He is a member of multiple surgical associations of India including ASI, AMASI, IAGES, IHS and  SELSI.

 

He is interested in teaching and has taken classes of Surgery for junior Surgical Residents and Paramedical students. He has attended multiple conferences throughout India and has presented posters on surgical diseases.
